NBCC named one of Atlantic Canada’s Top Employers for fourth year
FREDERICTON – For the fourth year in row, New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) has been named one of Atlantic Canada’s Top Employers. This has been officially announced in the January edition of Atlantic Business magazine.
The editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers have included the College in its annual list of organizations in the region recognized for offering exceptional places to work.
“NBCC is making great progress towards creating an exceptional place to work and learn, and this recognition for the fourth year running acknowledges those efforts,” said Marilyn Luscombe, President and CEO of NBCC. “We are very proud to be one of the region’s top employers, but we also recognize that we must continue investing in and aligning our talents as NBCC employees across to achieve the goals outlined in Together We Rise: NBCC’s 2017-2022 Strategic Plan.”
The selection committee specifically highlighted NBCC’s efforts to help employees prepare for life after work with retirement planning services and defined benefit and pension contributions. The committee also noted that NBCC supports new moms and dads with parental leave top-up payments and the opportunity to extend parental leave into a leave of absence, and the College’s practice of considering previous work experience when setting vacation entitlements for new employees.
Luscombe thanked Canada’s Top 100 Employers and Atlantic Business magazine for its recognition of NBCC as a top employer. She also thanked all NBCC employees for their ongoing efforts to make NBCC a great place to work and learn.
“The skills, talents and dedication of our employees are integral to the success of our College,” said Luscombe. “Together, we strive each and every day to fulfil our inspiring vision of transforming lives and communities.”
