Fine food for a great cause at NBCC’s Flavours New Brunswick event

ST. ANDREWS – Fine food for a great cause is on the menu for the sixth annual Flavours New Brunswick event, a celebration of local food and drink presented by New Brunswick Community College (NBCC).

NBCC is partnering with New Brunswick’s food and beverage producers on Saturday, May 4 to provide a unique learning opportunity for students in the Hospitality and Tourism programs at its St. Andrews Campus. Flavours New Brunswick also serves as the kick-off fundraiser for CBC’s Harbour Lights campaign for food banks in the region.

“Since 2014, Flavours New Brunswick has contributed more than $40,000 to Harbour Lights,” said Kim Garron, Hotel & Restaurant Operations instructor at NBCC St. Andrews. “We’re proud to give our students hands-on experience in a celebration of food and drink that also helps our community.”

Some of the province’s top chefs will participate, using food and beverages from some of New Brunswick’s best-known producers, including: True North Seafood, Ganong, Granite Town Farms and Crosby’s Molasses.

Local band Homemade Bread will be on the main stage at the event, creating a kitchen party atmosphere. There are still a few tickets left for purchase at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/flavours-new-brunswick-tickets-53809037279?aff=ebdssbdestsearch
